Found what I believe to be a Canada Darner along a river bank.

A. constricta
That's what this darner strikes me as as well. Those abdominal spots on S10 look too square to belong to any other species.

Side view?
Do you have a side view of the thorax? The shape of the stripes is very useful for identification. This is striking me as possibly Aeshna constricta, but I would like confirmation.
