L. americanus
This should be
Leptinus americanus
based on the ranges given by Peck (1982): "
L. occidenamericanus
in Western United States and Canada... in Eastern North America [s]ites west of the Mississippi River are
L. americanus
and those east of the Mississippi River are
L. orientamericanus
. In addition he reports a specimen of
L. americanus
from Washington Co., Arkansas, which is about 150 km north of where this specimen was collected.
Unless anyone knows of a more recent treatment of the genus. I got this reference out of American Beetles, so figured it was the most recent.

Leptinus
beetles of North America (Coleoptera: Leptinidae).
