Winter Moth - Hodges #7436 - Operophtera brumata

Size: ~ ½" wing span
This is one of a group of similar moths all close to each other on the outer wall of my garage around 3 pm today. Tonight, with the outside light on, was a group of 8 similar-looking moths on the glass at my front door. I will send each of the afternoon's group separately, as I understand multiple photos should only be of the same insect. My neighbor commented on she also has groups of small, tan-brown moths on her house.

Oops! I accidentally deleted the ONE PHOTO that was needed to ID this group of similar looking moths. I can't find it in the "Moths" section in the Guide. Is there a way to resubmit it?

Also, I appreciate the :) I submitted a photo of every moth in this group! They DO look similar, I guess I got carried away :)

Marcia,
You blew away the best Winter Moth photo of the eight or so you posted, the one I placed on the guide page. Resubmit the dorsal shot you took on 12/8/2012 5:28 PM. The color is better than the one you shot at 5:27. You can tell by right-clicking on the image, then clicking on properties. I'm going to place this photo, as we don't have any shots with wings folded. Don't delete this one :)

Whew! Thank you for the info. to get to the exact time each photo was taken. I've just submitted as an ID Request the "keeper" photo taken at 5:28 PM on 12-08-12. Many thanks for all of your help and good humor.
