Size: about 25 mm
The photo doesn't do the rainbow sheen seen on this beetle justice. It was quite stunning.

Calosoma scrutator
Fiery Searcher, what a name eh? Really gorgeous beetle, its been way too long since I have seen one myself. One of the few Carabidae I can actually recognize .
