Pine Chafer - Dichelonyx vicina

Pine Chafer - Dichelonyx vicina
Cedar Grove, Kings Canyon National Park, Fresno County, California, USA
June 6, 2010
Adding this 5th image, as the shape of the hind-tibial spur is diagnostic in a number of couplets in Fall's 1901 key to species, starting at couplet 7.

I'm interpreting the hind-tibial spurs here to be trunctate and not distinctly contorted...though the latter is hard to clearly discern. If this is a male, that would eliminate candidates pusilla and lateralis, leading to D. valida...at least according to my best efforts to interpret Fall's key and my photos.
