stocky all-tan anthicid - Anthicus lutulentus

stocky all-tan anthicid - Anthicus lutulentus
Organ Mountains foothills, Dona Ana County, New Mexico, USA
August 6, 2006
Size: 2.4 - 2.5 mm
Came to UV lights. This was one of two anthicids that departed substantially from the morphological (shape) norm. I think this is the only one of its species to show up. It seems to sport a little facial hair.
