Size: ~ 4mm
Collected at night at MV/UV lights. Anthribid Fungus Weevil....raised tuffs of setae on it's dorsal surface forming spike-like protrusions.

...which sounds kinda right (no other tufty species ranges anywhere near your area)(1) --keys out nicely, too
