Fresh as it gets - Mantis religiosa

I had noticed that one of my Mantis egg cases had hatched, and was running around my yard photographing the babies, when this one erupted. None of the juveniles had run off yet.

Do you have any idea of the genus or species on these? MAybe they can go deeper in the taxonomy?

Egg case
I really don't. I've only seen 2 species in my area, and I have both in my yard. (Chinese Mantid (Tenodera aridifolia sinensis), and European Mantis (Mantis religiosa)) My guess would be the latter.

The egg cases look a little different
we don't have on of the Mantis religiosa, but here's a link to an image. And the Tenodera looks like this:



I think yours looks a bit more like the former, with its tighter, smoothly curved shape, though it's hard to be sure from this close-up.

Definately the Mantis religiosa
My egg case lookes like the Mantis religiosa. I have a lot of those type scattered around. I'll try to post a better pic of the case.
