Distinguished from other North American Amblypsilopus by combination of

Costa of male with cilia, wing otherwise unmodified

Base of antenna yellow (black only in A. scintillans and A. costalis)

Thorax shining

Mid coxa darkened

Scutellum with small bristles outside of large pair

Mid femur of male with several bristles behind near the tip

Range

Eastern USA to South America
