Torymid from Diastrophus gall - Torymus solitarius - male

Torymid from Diastrophus gall - Torymus solitarius - Male
West Forks, Somerset County, Maine, USA
April 26, 2012
Size: 2.8 mm
Collected a Rubus stem gall on 3/30/2012; on 4/24/12, two ichneumonids, two torymids, and one cynipid emerged.

Moved
Moved from Torymus.

Moved
Moved from Torymidae.
I suppose the others I got from other Diastrophus galls are also Torymus, then... e.g. this one:

Torymus
Per my torymid contact. Females are difficult to identify, males all the more so.

But
I am now told that it is the ones from Diplolepis that are really tough, the ones from Diastrophus less so.

That's good
I also have large numbers of torymids from some Diastrophus galls, so perhaps that will help -- to the extent that a series from a single gall can be assumed to belong to the same species. In one case I'm pretty sure I got at least two species, just based on size differences.
