What a
spectacular scene! Do you have a less cropped version that shows more of the butterfly? It would nicely supplement this image. I am quite puzzled as to why this male is attracted to the wing spots...

I'm not sure if it was attracted to the butterfly or if it just
happened by as I clicked the photo. There were all sorts of bees, flies, and other insects working the flowers there that day so it may have just been coincidence. I have another pic of another buckeye taken the same day that is sharing a flower with a bumble bee.
