Neat Wasp - Gasteruption - male

Neat Wasp - Gasteruption - Male
Rose Valley Rd, Los Padres National Forest, Ventura County, California, USA
July 9, 2010
Found on flowers of Eriogonum fasciculatum. Long hind legs with clavately swollen tibiae; long "neck"; metasoma attached high on the thorax; and long, thin, cylindrical abdomen...all point unequivocally to Gasteruption. I tried to key this in Townes, but wasn't able to get very far. As there's no conspicuous ovipositor, I assume this is a male.
