Hyperaspis octonotata Casey - Hyperaspis lateralis

Hyperaspis octonotata Casey - Hyperaspis lateralis
Lake Dallas, Denton County, Texas, USA
December 10, 2012
Size: approx. 2mm
This ladybug was on a late season sunflower one sunny but cold morning. It was fairly active, crawling around on the leaf. Temperature outside was about 38 degrees. Very tiny (2mm or so). I tried to move it for a better photo but it dropped from the leaf and I lost track of it. Lots of aphids on the plant too. ID by Mike Quinn.
