Long-horned Beetle? - Pyropyga decipiens

Long-horned Beetle? - Pyropyga decipiens
Columbia, Boone County, Missouri, USA
June 5, 2012
Size: 10-13 mm
Insect was found on a composite wildflower ("Texas ????, common name) in our backyard. It appeared to be depositing eggs, and tiny white spheres appeared in other photos, although I wasn't able to get a pic of an egg actually being put down. So I suspect it's a female.

looks a lot like Pyropyga decipiens (Lampyridae)...
...but the indicated size is way too big for that [i suspect it to be overestimated by 30-50%]
angles most unfortunate for identification purposes :/

Long-horned Beetle?
I added another image. I was guessing the size from memory, so I may have been way off. Your suggestion seems pretty close----still going over the images and info. Thanks much!
