This spider was walking across the road in the Manzanita Campground at the northern end of Lassen Volcanic National Park.

According to Steve Lew's list there's Antrodiaetus pacificus and A. montanus in CA. There are a couple related genera there too though. I don't think it's Aliatypus, because Coyle (1971) says the male palp patella should be close in length to the tibia (page 331 in the key to genera). Then there's Atypoides, and it seems like we may need a shot of the spinnerets or a lateral view of the chelicerae to separate it from Antrodiaetus.

Sorry - it's the best I can provide. It's pretty blurry but it's a top down view and the spinnerets are visible.

for the new image. In this case I think we'd actually need to see the spinnerets from below. I'm not very familiar with these spiders though, so let's wait to see what the experts think. They may be able to tell you more from these shots. :)
