tibicen walkeri - Tibicen pronotalis? - Megatibicen resh
San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA
July 27, 2006
Size: 2.25"
I'm hoping for a positive ID on this Cicada. I'm thinking this may be a Tibicen pronotalis, but I'm not sure. This one is about 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 long.

Moved from Tibicen.

Tibicen resh
Identified by Kathy Hill. The insect is about 2.5" long.

Tibicen
The white sides of the thorax indicates this is either a new record for Texas, or an unidentified species. It resembles T. dorsatus and T. dealbatus, but does not have white spots down the midline of the abdomen.

New Record? Interesting
Ok I'll forward you the 2 additional photos I took and hope they help.

Thanks,
GD
