Taxonomic notes and distributional data on Nearctic species of Cryptorhopalum (Coleoptera: Dermestidae) w/ descrip. of a n. sp.

ABSTRACT: Cryptorhopalum brooksi from southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico
is described as new. Cryptorhopalum anthrenoides is considered a valid species, removed from
synonymy with C. pruddeni, and redescribed. Cryptorhopalum pruddeni is redefined. SEM details
of female abdominal sternum 5 are provided for C. brooksi n. sp., C. distichia, C. pruddeni, C.
sapindi , and C. woolfi. Range extensions are provided for C. focale, C. haemorrhoidale, C.
uteanum, and C. woolfi.
