Tingidae - Acalypta parvula

Tingidae - Acalypta parvula
Lewis & Clark Natural History Park, Clatsop County, Oregon, USA
October 6, 2012
Size: 1-2 mm
I think this is Acalypta barberi.

Moved tentatively
Moved from Acalypta.

cool...
Moved from Lace Bugs.

Moved for expert attention
Moved from ID Request.

Acalypta parvula
is correct. The species A. barberi was synonymized to A. parvula. So the ID was correct from the beginning, just a matter of name changes. It has been suggested that the species was introduced into North America.

thanks again!
i think the problem with barberi involves homonymy, and this name is unavailable for this species but the senior homonym is still valid and used for a palaeotropical species
