Syrphid fly - Allograpta obliqua - female

Syrphid fly - Allograpta obliqua - Female
Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, USA
August 29, 2006
I think this is in the genus Allograpta but I'm not sure of the species... obliqua, perhaps? I know it's a female because I saw her ovipositing on my milkweed. I'm also posting a photo of what I believe is the larva (or maggot) of this same species. I saw the immature first, hoping I could track down what it was, and then I saw the fly laying eggs on another plant. Is my connection correct?

Different individuals
Please unlink these two images as they are not the same individual and they could even be a different species. You can still link them using [thumb:#], instead of same individual, when you mention that they were on the same bush and that they may be related.

Sorry...
I realize now that I shouldn't have put these two images together. I was new to the site and wasn't sure about posting and such. Now that I've had time to look around and check things out, I know more about where to put images. I really wasn't trying to be irresponsible! :-)

This is a female of Allograpt
This is a female of Allograpta obliqua. I do not know if the larvae is the same spcies, it could very well be.
