White-Striped Beetle -
Systena blanda
Near Ruraldale, Upshur County, West Virginia, USA
August 19, 2006
I was thinking Chrysomelidae, but haven't had any luck identifying it as one of those. Was on a squash plant, though whether resting or feeding I don't know. Not tiny and not large.

Systena sp.
Hi there,
this is indeed a Chrysomelid. It is a species of Systena; a fleabeetle. (Chrysom.:Galer.:Alticini) DonĀ“t think this genus is in the guide yet. Could you add it.

Thank you
Thank-you Rob. I appreciate your help.
There was a page for Systena but it was hiding; there is a problem right now with there being two Alticini pages and apparently some IDs and comments would be lost if one of the pages were deleted...
This is the second image in the genus on BugGuide. Thanks again for your help in IDing it.
