Salebriaria ademptandella (Dyar, 1908) - Hodges #5770.1 - Salebriaria ademptandella
n.w. Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
May 28, 2012
This moth has been IDed by Ed Knudson as Salebriaria ademptandella (Dyar, 1908) (Hodges #5770.1). I've checked the image against Dyar's original description* and it seems a good fit. The species was originally described from a series of specimens from Kerrville, TX. Dyar indicates that this species is "allied to S. annulosella Rag., nubiferella Rag., turpidella Rag., and tenebrosella Hulst, but of a brighter gray than all these, with markings prettily contrasted." I don't have access to the newer MONA fascicles to check further details. Also looks very similar to S. roseopunctella (#5773.1).
