I don't know how to tell the two species apart, but I bet someone else will.

They feed on decaying matter, probably dead stuff that got caught in the light fixture. If you clean it up they should pretty much go away.

I am so bug deprived I was dreaming of finding beautiful new beetle species a few days ago. Your little guy is super cute with those fuzzy antennae.
