Hard to say ...
I could well be wrong, but it looks more like Leucania ursula to me

Robert,

I really worked and worked on this one, but, as usual, when you shine the light of day on my choice, I feel less confident. I posted this hind wing view because I thought your Leucania ursula had a dark hind wing - at least in one photo.

I based my opinion a lot on the photos of Hugh McGiness and Janice Stiefel on MPG. Those showed the combination of cream and pink that I saw in a lot of my pictures and had a squiggled line, which I now see is the AM line and not in the median area like mine. So, I don't know where to go. Will look again, but I really HAVE looked extensively. Thanks for your help.

Ann

Another possibility
Info page gives range as extending only to OK. Perhaps it could be something related to mine though.

Aaron,

I remembered that I had worked on these for quite a while and sent some to BOLD. The white one referenced above, along with 2 others that were similar, came back in a BIN with Agrotis vestula but did not get species recognition - I felt it was a confirmed ID because everything in the bins around them could be eleminated by appearance.

This yellowish one I think is a variation of Euxoa Medialis. I sent in several - none of them looking exactly alike - and they were all in the same bin with only one receiving species status. I think E. medialis must be QUITE variable from my experience.

So it looks like Khyl's Euxoa lead is very good.

Really interesting. Will be looking for another one. This is a fertile time and I am not there 1oo% of the time.
