Numbers
3 species worldwide, all native to the Palearctic; 2 now occur in North America (1)
Remarks
Two related European Stigmella species that mine in rose leaves now occur in North America. S. anomalella is abundant in western states, and S. centifoliella (mistakenly described in the past as S. rosaefoliella pectocatenata) has been found both in Ontario and California. The only known nepticulid rose miner native to the western states is Ectoedemia marmaropa. (Erik J. van Nieukerken, email to C. Eiseman, 2/8/2013)
