Steniolia - female

Steniolia - Female
Off Angeles Crest Highway, ~6500 ft, San Gabriel Mountains, Los Angeles County, California, USA
August 18, 2006
Taking nectar in Chrysothamnus nauseosus (Rabbitbrush).
Probably a female (I see only six terga, and 10 flagellomeres).

Moved from Nyssoninae.

Steniolia
looks like a S. tibialis female, but I don't know enough about this genus to rule out all other possible species

Stictiella?
My first guess would be Stictiella, but I will have to work through these images slowly to be positive. Very nice shots.

Thanks, Eric,
If Stictiella, there's a drawing of the dorsal pattern of T-I-III, for a male variety of S. emarginata from Riverside County, CA (California Sandwasps in the Subtribe Stictiellina, by Bohart & Gillaspay: 1). Not perfect, especially if one includes other characters. I'm confused for now.

I saw a similar sp. on Mt. Pinos (see posts #74503, 74504), a male I think.

Another sp. (also Nyssoninae) from Angeles Crest, San Gabriel Mountains: see post #74394.

Today I photographed one with black and yellow thorax, but nearly white abdomen with black markings - will post tonight. (Eaton Canyon, foot of San Gabriel Mountains)
