Bee Assassin Bug - Apiomerus californicus

Size: Nose to wingtip 16mm

My thanks for confirmation or otherwise!

From my old notes: one of three of these bugs that I observed on blooming California Buckwheat bushes (Eriogonum fasciculatum), which is a real favorites for honeybees, Each bug had a honey bee that they had caught and killed.
