Portal, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
July 20, 2012
Looking at my Kaufman insect guide, it looks like Lycus lecontei, but not sure if there are any similar species. It was photographed at Sunny Flat Campground in Cave Creek Canyon, Chiricahua Mountains at an elevation of ~5,000 ft. in mixed oak-juniper/riparian/upper Sonoran zone vegetation.
