6660 Small Phigalia (Phigalia strigataria) - Phigalia strigataria
Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, USA
February 12, 2013
This moth was first seen last night. It had begun raining and continued through the morning as this image was taken at 11:48.52. Temperature was 48 degrees, humidity was 94%, and the wind was from the east at 8 mph.
The moth does not have the lines of the others of this type, but it certainly has some of the characteristics.

Phigalia sp.
Victoria,
While it looks similar to Jeff Trahan's Toothed Phigalia, most of the diagnostic traverse lines on your specimen are worn, leaving only the toothed portions of PM near the costa and the inner margin. This characteristic is common with four Phigalia I know. See comparison of Phigalia species
