Brown Bug

Brown Bug
Apache NF, W of Springerville, Apache County, Arizona, USA
July 8, 2012
At first I thought this was a Desert Cockroach, but then I noticed the eyes and "nose". Any ideas? On a burned branch in a pine forest in a meadow, elev. 8400 feet. Thank for your help.

Moved
Moved from Clastopteridae.

wowww. another nicest find, Lon.
Moved from Clastoptera.

Clastopteridae, but not Clastoptera
Probably an undescribed genus. Can you get any specimens? I know; it's the wrong time of year ...

The color alone should make this unique insect easy for anyone in AZ to recognize in the field.

Can you give us an estimated size?

Thank you
I imagine the area is under snow right now...but I'll look again whenever I'm in the area again. I added another photo - although I don't think it adds much. I'm estimating the size at 4 mm. I really appreciate all of your effort and help. Thanks again.

Moved tentatively; looks nice
