Melanoplus nymph - Melanoplus dawsoni - female

Melanoplus nymph - Melanoplus dawsoni - Female
Sandilands Provincial Forest, se of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
July 5, 2012
Found on a clay/sand roadcut in mixed woods. I've looked extensively through this site and Pfadt's nymphal descriptions but can't find one that quite fits. You can just make out the reddish hind tibia (easier to see when blown up).

looks like a very nearly mature female nymph of
Melanoplus dawsoni

Moved from Grasshoppers.

M. dawsoni
Thanks for the ID, David. M dawsoni was one I had considered, but yet again, couldn't make the jump without a reference. I need to get out and sample, sample, sample.
