Red Saddlebags - Male - Tramea onusta - Male
San Antonio area, Bexar County, Texas, USA
September 1, 2006
This male played hard to get for a good while, finally he decided he would allow me close enough for this image. He was flying from perch to perch in a weed filled easement between my open field and a large stock tank/pond. He would allow me to get a few feet away then take off to the next weed top to perch upon. After several approaches I snapped a few shots from a couple of steps away, then slowly moved with in inches for this image. It was taken at 6:41 PM if that makes any difference?
