Coleophoridae (dogwood) - Coleophora cornella

Coleophoridae (dogwood) - Coleophora cornella
Ledges State Park, Boone County, Iowa, USA
June 20, 2008
Left herbivory shows attachment hole for feeding.
On the larval case there appears to be a pooh. Another post for this species asked about the fact that there did not seem to be evidence on the case for the adult emergence. Perhaps the moth squeezes through the end of the case in a similar manner as the pooh gets pushed out. (But I don't really know.)
