Chrysomelidae, larval case - Neochlamisus gibbosus

Chrysomelidae, larval case - Neochlamisus gibbosus
Martha's Prairie, Warren County, Iowa, USA
June 28, 2008
June 21, 2008: I'm in South Dakota and get a phone call from L Crim describing this insect on Rubus. As he describes it I get excited and tell him (ask him, please) to collect it so I can try to rear. L's a good guy so he collects two.
July 26, 2008: 1 adult emerged
August 13, 2008: I cut open the other case to find a dead and dried larva.
