Beach Fly 2 - Oedoparena glauca
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
February 16, 2013
Intertidal zone, Myrtle Edwards Park, Seattle.

Moved
Moved from Oedoparena.

Moved
Moved from Canacinae. I fouled this one up. However, Oedoparena is just as exciting a find as Canacidae

on the bright side
It got us to sort out the canacid/tethinid taxonomy.

Thanks
No problem. I just try to find the interesting insects. I leave it t the experts to sort them out.

Moved
Moved from Canacidae.

Cool!
The first canacid in the strict sense on Bugguide! This closes one of the last prominent gaps in BG at the family level. The family Tethinidae is nowadays included in Canacidae so there are some other pictures already.

Thanks
