Ordinarily, I'd guess a Tachinid egg...
...but I don't imagine that there are a lot of Tachinids buzzing around MA in February, so I'm not sure.

I just don't think of tachinids as being active in the winter. Maybe a fly specialist will chime in and educate us both.
