Quaker - Kocakina fidelis

Quaker - Kocakina fidelis
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
February 19, 2013
Size: 15-18mm
At outdoor light. I have others like it and need to be educated about these moths. The partial fusion of one orbicular spot with the reniform spot below suggests Orthodes majuscula but I don't see a black spot behind the head, and the pm line does not seem right. Some features suggest Himella fidelis but I can't find tufts on the front legs and fused spots on any of the posted images. I am obviously confused and need help. Thanks.

Intractable Quaker - Hodges #10502
Moved from Moths.

● FW grayish to reddish-brown √
● Traverse lines yellowish, broken √
● Spots outlined with yellow √
● Heavy black spot on basal line √
● Fainter black spots on AM and PM lines near inner margin √
● HW grayish-brown, darker toward outer margin ?

One of those!
I thought so, Robert, and I like your checklist. A little bit of flexibility (ignoring tufts and fused renal spot) will go a long way!

Thank you for the idea ...
