Crab #1 needs ID

Crab #1 needs ID
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, San Pedro, Los Angeles County, California, USA
shot at aquarium 11-13-2012

Moved

I was at the aquarium earlier this month
and photographed this crab as well (possibly a different one being that our visits were a year apart, but definitely this same species). It was unlabeled, but I've ID'd this one in my files as Cancer gracilis based on crab ID guides from Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife website (see here) - note especially the carapice spines (especially #9) which is apparently distinct when compared against our other local Cancer crabs.

I'll be back at the aquarium next week though and hopefully I'll be able to talk to somebody who can confirm the ID.

Thanks, Chris
I've been trying to get to the aquarium for over a month to test a new lens and hope to go next week. (But I've said that before - lots!) Maybe I'll catch you there.
