Neoscapteriscus vicinus - male Neoscapteriscus vicinus - male

correct ID - a male
You can tell gender of the adults easily by the venation of the wings near the base on top. The males have this area modified for sound production, and there are larger clear patches with no cross veins. The females have an ovipositor, but it usually doesn't show in a photo (it is short).

Moved from Grasshoppers, Crickets, Katydids.
