Brachys rileyi Hespenheide (allotype) - Brachys rileyi

Brachys rileyi Hespenheide (allotype) - Brachys rileyi
Magdalena, Socorro County, New Mexico, USA
September 10, 2008
Size: ~4.5mm
North Baldy Mountain, was on Gamble Oak leaf. Hop Canyon Trail 25, estimated the elevation ~8,000 to 8,500 feet.

the page was there, Mark
Moved from Brachys aerosus.

i edited the title of the image accordingly
NB: 'Hespenheide' shouldn't be parenthesized after the species name! it was described in the same genus where it is today, and in the guide.
and the 'allotype' in the title makes it redundant to indicate the identifying authority: it simply cannot be anyone but the author of the species

Thanks for the corrections
to make it scientifically proper.

New Species

okay, acc'g to Henry Hespenheide...
[Rick Westcott has forwarded me his e-note]
..."The only problem is that the 'aerosus group' exists only in my head. Just call it aerosus..."
