Some kind of Hopper? - Platypedia
Bennett Valley, Sonoma County, California, USA
April 26, 2011
On Feverfew in a garden surrounded by vineyards and oak woodlands

Moved from Cicadas.

Sorry for the (inadvertent) double move.

Cropped and moved for expert attention.
Moved from ID Request.

try genus Platypedia
Not sure which species.

You'll impove your chances for an ID if you crop your pic as close to "just the bug" as possible. Only you and the editors have the option of viewing the full-size image. Everyone else is left looking at a little bug in a lot of unnecessary background. :)

You can click on "edit" and simply upload a cropped version, if available. It will replace the current pic.

Cicada of some kind
Related to leafhoppers and treehoppers. Others should be able to tell you more.
