There were lots of these out on the snow surface on a wooded trail.

Note that the anal sacs are exposed. These serve as kind of sticky safety-bag. The sacs are exposed just before jumping. When the specimen lands the exposed anal sacs stick the specimen to the substrate (prevents it from bouncing around).
