"Same old thing for lunch", quoth the Lynx - Peucetia viridans
Riley Wilderness Park, Coto De Caza, Orange County, California, USA
August 2, 2006
I photographed the same spider on the same hunk of buckwheat on four consecutive days. Except for the third day - when I was a half hour early - lunch was the same old thing.

Time: 11:29am

Nice series of shots, Ron!
I just happened across these while I was looking for something else... It reminded me of some really old images I took of a feeding Green Lynx at RSABG, which now that I think about it may actually have been the very first insect photos I ever shot! Anyway, thanks for the interesting photos (and the trip down memory lane).

My pleasure, Harsi.
I might have mentioned this elsewhere, but here's a prime example of what we see as an absence of camouflage (predator-side) having no influence on the hapless prey. OTHO, it may just be that honey bees are such aggressive gathers that they figure anything on the plant will leave upon their arrival. Either way, the spider ate well.

We're curious why
if these are on four separate days, that the date for all the images is the same? You can click on edit on each image and adjust the dates. It would also be interesting if you added the times in your comments, since that's an interesting part of the story!

I could say that was a readership device
...which is what I called my typos when I was writing. But I'm just lazy. Good suggestions, as always, which I'll implement.
