Golf Course Moth? - Hyles lineata

Golf Course Moth? - Hyles lineata
Seen on the Raven at Verrado Golf Course, in the community of Verrada in Buckeye, Arizona, USA
March 10, 2013
Size: approx wingspan 3 in.
I saw this critter just sitting in the fairway of a golf course near Buckeye AZ. The time was 11:45 AM. I though it was dead, as I had to move it to address my ball, but when I gently nudged the insect, it unfurled its wings a bit more and showed a bit of red color in the wing, but otherwise it stayed put. Any idea what it is?
