Dull Firetip - Apyrrothrix araxes

Dull Firetip - Apyrrothrix araxes
Madera Canyon, Santa Rita Mts., Pima County, Arizona, USA
September 4, 2006
Size: 2 in
Several Dull Firetips (Pyrrhopyge araxes) nectaring at Bee Balm, Monarda pectinata. 2 images. Submitted to genus page Pyrrhopyge since there wasn't a species page. These skippers allowed a person to approach quite close once they'd had a few drinks of Bee Balm nectar. Thought about trying it, but my tongue was too short.
