Nephelodes minians, possibly
This may be Nephelodes minians - Bronzed Cutworm Moth. There are no records on this site from New Mexico, but it should occur there.

 
I was also thinking Bronzed Cutworm Moth
The map on MPG shows them in New Mexico, and I've seen them in Colorado.
