Gray bee - Centris pallida - Male
North Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
I found it already dead in my back yard. Have never seen a bee like this in Arizona, and I've been here over 20 years.

Are you 100% sure? This bee
Are you 100% sure? This bee doesn't look like the photos of the other bees. But I will take your word for it if you are 100% sure. Thank you.

So I also emailed an entomologist at the University of Arizona (Carl Olson). He said this, "That is a digger bee Centris pallida, probably a pollinator of palo verde, used to be in the family Anthophoridae."

Found info on this cool bee through ASU. http://askabiologist.asu.edu/explore/desert-digger-bees Excellent info on behavior. I really dig this digger bee!
