Ceraticelus fissiceps - female

Ceraticelus fissiceps - Female
Judson Bottom Road, Nicollet County, Minnesota, USA
March 3, 2013
Size: 1-2mm
Collected by Jenny Lohmiller from leaf litter. Epigynum suggests either C. atriceps or C. fissiceps with the sclerotized plate surrounding the epigynum matching C. fissiceps better in Paquin & Duperre, 2003. Kaston, 1948 indicates that dorsal scutum is present on female C. fissiceps but absent on C. atriceps. Cephalothorax structure in profile also does not match female C. atriceps as depicted in Kaston, 1948.
