parthenice tiger?
I don't have experience with these, but based on the limited spotting of the hindwing I came up with Grammia parthenice. Is that possible?

 
It seems possible to me , , ,
New York is within their range. I am puzzling this out as I have a chance. Thanks for this suggestion.
