Osmia - Osmia clarescens - male

Osmia - Osmia clarescens - Male
Theodore Payne Foundation garden, Sun Valley, Los Angeles County, California, USA
March 27, 2013
Size: ~ 7 mm
Found in Clarkia unguiculata patch ~ 3:00 PM.
My guess is that this is the same species as the female I found cutting leaf nearby:

Molly Rightmeyer Gee thinks this is a pretty good fit for O. clarescens, at least based on hair color pattern. Molly also mentioned that they tend to be "kind of blue-greenish with brassy highlights (esp in male), and rather more white hair than usual except for the dark hair dorsally".
