wow... very nice picture, however, i think your wasp is a Tachinid fly, and i think in the genus Cylindromyia. perhaps someone can tell you more than i on this one.

The wings do look less wasp-like than my other images.

yep... two wings, short antennae, and over all look, you start being able to recognize these different bugs looking at them all the time.
